What is Barcelona’s Noche de Museos?

May 18th is International Museum Day, whose goal is to promote culture in society. And what better way to promote it than by opening the doors to all the museums in the city? Unusually, not only are all the museums open, but they stay open well past midnight.

Best of all, in addition to the extra hours, access is completely free. This makes it a great chance to visit those museums you’ve always wanted to see without spending a cent. On this special night a huge number of museums and cultural spaces in the capital city will open their doors from 19:00 to 1:00 so the public can see their collections and exhibits for free.

But that’s not all. Since it’s a special day, the various museums also put on workshops, talks, guided visits, and other activities to bring in even more people. The more the merrier!
