The Christmas season is in its final days, but one of the main events is still to come: la Cabalgata de los Reyes Magos, or Three Kings’ Parade. In Barcelona they celebrate it to the máximum and over time the area has become an obligatory tourist attraction for visitors who are in the city during the beginning of January. January 6th is a date eagerly anticipated by both adults and children, but the day before the Cabalgata de los Reyes Magos increases that anticipation even more. In Barcelona, the excitement for the arrival of Their Majesties from the East is palpable starting early in the afternoon. And with good reason. By 16:00 everything is ready for their arrival at the port on board the ship Santa Eulàlia. You may find that things are a little crowded, but it’s worth it to welcome Melchor, Gaspar, and Baltasar after such a long journey. The mayor of Barcelona will offer them the keys to city, while thousands of attendees wait impatiently for the beginning of the parade, which will soon begin.
Schedule for Cabalgata de Reyes Magos 2020
Just like every year, the Cabalgata de los reyes Magos will begin on avenida Marquès de l’Argentera, just a few steps away from Moll de la Fusta, where Their Majesties will have come ashore. They will pass through the Pla de Palau and the passeig Isabel II, finally reaching Vía Laietana. Next the contingent will continue through plaça Urquinaona, Fontanella, plaça Catalunya, and plaça Universitat. Don’t worry, there’s still plenty of parade route left. Specifically, the parade will head to la ronda Sant Antoni, carrer Sepúlveda, avinguda Parallel, plaça de Espanya, and avinguda Maria Cristina.
Around 21:00, the Cabalgata de los Reyes Magos in Barcelona will finish at the iconic Fuente Mágica de Montjuïc.
During the roughly 3-hour trip, attendees will have the opportunity to say hello to the three wise men from the east, and also enjoy fun original characters like the present wrapper, the tree planter, and the toy inventor. All this takes place in an excitement-filled environment, complete with kilos and kilos of sweets. Enjoy the parade during your stay at our guesthouse close to Plaza España.
